100% agree. practice is huge especially for new players joining new teams. Dallas had the time to work on everything that would have been wrong with their game. They clearly look a few steps ahead of most teams I've watched this year

Teams that are unable to play due to Covid issues should not benefit. They should either be forced to play with less players or forfeit.

...or the Preds are not very good... or being the only team to play all of their games in front of fans has given them an extra spark. Two games at home against the same opponent probably isn't enough to draw any conclusions.

Also, if the powerplay is something that you can practice, the Preds sure didn't get the memo.

The NHL allowing the Stars to practice certainly helped them get off to a good start, and a good start is mandatory in this shortened season. That noted, the Stars still need to play the 56 games, and if the make up games are crammed in at the end, well the complaint then will be they are tired and it was unfair. No plan is perfect, just glad there is a plan.

Won't this also affect the teams they play make-up games against? And those teams did not get the benefit of two weeks practice before they started the season.

If Dallas started 0-2 the topic would have been how unfair it was to play against teams that already had a couple of weeks to get their legs.

I would also note that Ek picked Dallas to miss the playoffs and finish an unbelievable 6th in this division. Whereas he has Nashville finishing 3rd. So naturally the schedule must be the reason for Dallas manhandling them. It couldn't possibly be that Dallas is a far better hockey team...

I have to see how Dallas plays in double headers before I can properly evaluate them. Beating Detroit the next 2 games doesn't count. Ek wanted us to tell him why Colorado doesn't win the Cup. I don't really have an answer right now.

Ek had Dallas missing the playoffs. Vegas too. But then he said Vegas is the best team in the West. Doghockey er I mean Ek... can you please explain this? 1 of your other 15,000 alts may also answer. Thanks.

Nobody is quite sure. The obvious answer of Dallas simply being a far better hockey team than Nashville was not considered.

I am intrigued with this line...the Laine/Dubois deal has sparked alive some GMs apparently...

I wonder if the imminent trade between Winnipeg and Pittsburgh is back on the table? Or maybe some of the big names that were supposed to be traded in the off-season will be on the move now...Gaudreau, Nylander, Barzal, JVR + Ghost

Ek says Laine dreams of being an LA King. He asked his Mama and Papa if he could be California Dreamin' on such a winter's day. He may have to settle on being traded to Anaheim or San Jose.

Dallas Stars were forced to start their season two weeks later

1st games of the season were January 13th...which is under 2 weeks ago. I think they started their season 9 days later and weren't allowed to practice for 6 days.

Another write up showing how little you actually research what you write.

So wait. Are you saying Dallas didn't get an extra 14 days to practice the powerplay? This is getting confusing. Bottom line, they almost won the Cup, but lost Corey Perry, so should finish 6th and miss the playoffs. The end.

As I said, if they started 0-2 or 1-1 then this article doesn't get written.
